Get Your Calls into Sondar.Ai

Ready to put those call recordings to work? We support a few super easy ways to get your audio data into Sondar.Ai. Here’s the lowdown on how to import your calls right now (and what’s just around the corner!).

🛑 MANDATORY FIRST STEP: Create Your Study!

This is non-negotiable! Think of a Study as the dedicated folder and analysis container for your recordings. Sondar.Ai needs to know where to file the call, what context it belongs in, and how to analyze it.

You cannot upload or import a recording without an active Study.

  1. Go To: The 'Moderated Studies' section in the home screen

  2. Click: The "Create Study" button.

  3. Name It: Give your Study a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Q4 Sales Calls - Product X Feedback" or "Discovery Interviews - New Feature Beta").

4. Start an Import: Then, go to the Study you just created and click the Import.

1. Upload from Your Computer

This is the most straightforward method. If the file is on your desktop, you’re good to go.

  • Click: The "Upload File" button.

  • Select: The audio or video file from your computer. We support all common formats (like .mp3, .mp4, .wav, etc.).

  • Wait: The file will upload and start processing immediately. Easy peasy!

2. Import Google Meet sessions from Google Drive

If you use Google Meet, your sessions are likely chilling in Google Drive. Let’s grab them without the extra download step!

  • Click: The "Google Drive" option.

  • Authorize: Follow the on-screen prompts to securely link your Google account. (Don't worry, we only access the files you tell us to!)

  • Select: Choose the specific sessions you want to import from the pop-up window.

💪 PRO TIP: To select multiple files, hold down the Command key on mac or Ctrl key on Windows.

  • Import: Click "Select." Done! This is so much better than manually downloading and re-uploading.

  • Process: Your selected session will appear in the sessions list with an uploading status.

FAQ

How will I know a session has been imported?

When the session is ready, you will receive an email notification.

How long does it take to import a session?

It depends on the size of the recording. Longer sessions take more time to import and encode. 2x the length of the session is a good rule of thumb

Is the a limit on the size of the session?

Yes, the current limit is 1GB which equates to about 90mins for most recordings.

Can I use the app while it's importing?

Yes, all imports are handled in the background. Once you see the sessions appear in the list, you can continue to use the app or close the browser tab.
