Welcome to Sondar.AI - where turning interviews into insights takes less time than brewing a coffee. In this guide, you’ll go from raw recordings to actionable insights in under 5 minutes. No tagging, no highlighting, no busywork. Just instant answers.

1. Set up your first Moderated Study

Your first step is to setup a Moderated Study to house your interviews.

Form the Top Menu, select Studies > Moderated > Create Study.

2. Import Your Interview Recordings

Once you have created your first study, select it and click on Import button to import your first recording.

  • Option 1: Upload files directly from your computer (.mp4, .mp3, .wav)

  • Option 2: Import recordings directly from Google Drive (Zoom & OneDrive coming soon)

2. AI Powered Transcription

Once imported, Sondar.Ai goes to work:

  • Transcribes every word automatically

  • Detects who is speaking

  • Flags key moments

To access the transcript, in the Session preview screen, click on the Transcript tab.

3. Ask Your First Question

Here’s where Sondar.Ai shines. Forget highlighting and tagging — click "Ask AI" to start a new chat thread and just ask your questions in plain English:

  • Examples:

    • “What frustrates users the most?”

    • “Which features delight users?”

    • “What problems do customers have with our onboarding?”

The AI will instantly analyze all interviews and deliver structured insights.

4. Review Your First Insights

Sondar.Ai summarizes patterns, key quotes, and sentiment across all your interviews.

  • Look for recurring themes instantly

  • Spot pain points or delight drivers

  • Drill down with follow-up questions to explore deeper

Pro tip: Clicking on any quotes to watch the exact clip of the customer saying those words.

Quick Tips

  • Start with one clear question.
